The Australian Pipe Band College is the educational division of the Australian Pipe Band Association and manages educational seminars and certification, training and qualification of contest adjudicators, and the grading of pipers and pipe bands for competition purposes. Each state has a branch of the College and has Vice Principals responsible for Piping, Drumming, Rules & Administration and Dress & Drill. The Vice Principals administer examinations in each state and the the courses and syllabi are listed below. The Vice Principals can be contacted HERE. Tip of the Day
Pipe Majors: select tunes that your pipe corps can handle, and that you can teach to a relatively high standard relevant to the band's grading. Far better to play the 'meat and drink' tunes well, than unravel through folly. |
